Job Purpose

To operate tractors on CPUT campuses. Mainly mowing of sports fields and open spaces

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Matric/Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF
Valid Driver's license (code 8)
Tractor Driver Certificate
At least two (2) years' relevant experience in similar role
Driving tractor with trailer/attachments

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

Driving Tractor with attachments to mow sports fields and open spaces .
Driving tractor with trailer to collect garden refuse on campus .
Fertilization
Storekeeping duties - Ensure safekeeping of mowing equipment and other stock items
Internal Liaison
Driving - Load and unload garden supplies
Planting - Assist in planting and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees and lawns
General garden maintenance

Competencies

Knowledge of tractor functions.
Knowledge of grass mowing with tractor
Knowledge of basic tractor and tractor equipment maintenance
Ability to work independently
Analysing basic problem
Knowledge of computerized controllers
Basic pruning knowledge
Planting knowledge
Flexibility
Physical fitness
ObseNant and methodical
Good communication skills
Interpersonal & Conflicts Management Skills
Planning and organizing skills
Enjoy outdoor work
Enjoy working in teams.
Basic knowledge of landscape plans and rockeries, paths and ponds construction
Knowledge of plants

Ability to perform general landscape related work
