Job Purpose

The objective is to fill this contract position of ENGLISH in the SP&FET Department with a staff member with expertise in this area.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: LECTURER

A relevant Master’s degree in English or Education related
English as a major subject at undergraduate level
A relevant teaching qualification
Two (2) relevant lecturing experience in SP & FET at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant teaching experience at school level
Specialized knowledge of methodologies of teaching English

Teaching English in the SP & FET department
Curriculum development and other learning materials
Supervising students on teaching practice
Research and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision)
Academic administration, development, and administration
Adequate content and pedagogical content knowledge

Community engagement
Mentoring and support of students (and staff)
Teamwork and collaboration
Strong learner focus
Adaptability
Meticulous planning and organizing skills/Time Management

Ability to align yourself to hybrid teaching and learning models (face-to-face and on-line learning)
Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
